This is an a LIVING archive of Erik Stanger.  It will grow.  Check back often for news updates and information.

Erik Stanger was/is mainly a visual artist, but has played in various punk / hardcore bands and electronic projects over the past 20 years.  He started GRAMMAL SEIZURE to use as sound / music for his art installations / gallery exhibits for his visual art. It has emerged into a full fledged music project that he continue to exhibit ideas and sounds with.  GRAMMAL SEIZURE has release musick on INNER-X-MUSICK, FOAMIN’ SODOMY RECORDS, PFLICHKAUFRS, as well as Stangers own TRANSMISSIONARY MOVEMENT RECORDS and DEAD BLOOD PRODUCTIONS.   GRAMMAL SEIZURE has collaborated with Batcheeba. At the End of 2009, GRAMMAL SEIZURE stopped recording, whether this is permanent is yet to be seen.  But Erik continues to record and has also branched off into other projects, including NORDHAUSEN, EXPERIMENT A.D., COFFEE SAUCERS, and THE HOSPITAL.

After a year long Hiatus Erik is back with new musick as of Estuary 2011!

NEW LABEL FOR GRAMMAL SEIZURE:  According to Erik Stanger;

Dead Blood Productions has replaced my old label moniker “thee transmissionary movement records”…. D.B.P. will be a label for putting out Grammal Seizure releases, as well as any other projects i’m involved in or other artists that may want to contribute… I will probably have GS releases put out by other labels as well, but I like to have my own label as well….. that way I can put things out when I want and how I want…

THEE TRANSMISSIONARY MOVEMENT

THEE TRANSMISSIONARY MOVEMENT is an art movement to get like minded artist’s of all disciplines exhibiting and collaborating on their work together.

Thee Transmissionary Movements agenda is to create / make and transmit art and ideas in any way shape or form the artist sees fit. This includes sound / visual / performance and any other means to get across ideas and aesthetics. Unconventional materials / found objects / traditional materials are all encouraged in the movement. Unconventional exhibition spaces are also encouraged. If the established galleries won’t have us, we find and exhibit in a different space. Thee Transmissionary Movement is borrowing ideas and taking it’s cues from DADA / Fluxus / COUM / Pop / Bauhaus / and Constructivist ideology and carrying them further into today’s modern society. The power of art has much more relevance in a group than one solo artist trying to get his or her ideas across in the cluttered and crowded art world of today.
